Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism is an act, whether intentional or unintentional, of obtaining or attempting to obtain credit or a grade for a scientific work by quoting part or all of another party's work and/or scientific work recognized as one's own, without stating the source accurately and adequately.

Acts of plagiarism can damage the reputation of a researcher and their institution in the academic field. To ensure this does not occur, one of the steps that will be implemented is the use of a similarity checker for every manuscript submitted to this journal. The editor will conduct a check using Crossref Similarity Check for every incoming article before it is sent to the reviewer. If the article has a high similarity percentage based on the check results, the editor will take appropriate action.

Plagiarism is an unacceptable act, so a policy is needed to state the specific action (penalty) to be taken if an act of plagiarism is identified in an article manuscript submitted to this journal. The following are the actions that will be taken according to the level of plagiarism that occurs:

Level of Plagiarism

  • Copying part of a short sentence from another article without stating the source. Action: The author is given a warning and asked to change the text and cite it correctly.
  • Copying most of another article without proper citation and without stating the source. Action: The submitted article is rejected for publication and the author may be sanctioned by being barred from publishing in the future.
    • All authors of an article are responsible for the content of the article they submit. If the article manuscript is identified as plagiarized, all authors will be subject to the same action.
  • If an author is proven to have submitted a manuscript while simultaneously submitting it to another journal, and this overlap is discovered during the review process or after publication, the action stated in point 2 above will be applied.
  • If an act of plagiarism is found outside the rules above, the editor has the right to impose sanctions in accordance with the editorial team's policy.
